The MAP-S measure absolute planar positions (X, Y) and angle (θz) simultaneously. (In the case of conventional encoders, two absolute linear and one angular ones are required.)

The MAP-S consist of a scale and an optical head where absolute coordinate values are encoded and decoded

respectively, and output the absolute position/angle values in the scale coordinate.

Using the MAP-S, we can measure and control various multiaxis systems easily and accurately
